The 6 Week Shape Up

week one video focus: introducing pilates -set up and principals

This week we're going to be getting friendly with the Pilates principles and technique as well as introducing ourselves to some of the basic movements and set ups.

Without proper technique applied to your movements on the mat you won't get the most out of Pilates, so it is really important to create a strong foundation of knowledge to work from.

That being said we will still be getting some great work done to prepare ourselves for the rest of the programme.

WEEK 2 VIDEO FOCUS: CORE

This week we're going to be building on what we covered in week 1 with a special focus on our abs and core. We're kicking it up a notch to make sure that we get the most out of the programme, feel free to take breaks whenever you need - just pause the video, grab a drink of water and restart when you're ready! Do what you need to to get your time on the mat in :)

week 3 video focus: strong arms

This week we're going to be focussing on building strength in our arms as well as working on creating a healthy back. Sometimes improving our posture can be the single most effective thing for reducing back pain and tension that we may experience. Good posture can also help to portray confidence; standing tall and proud. So prepare to end the week feeling stronger, longer and proud!

CHANGING OUR BEHAVIOURS

Week 4 video Focus: legs and glutes

As always we'll be getting a great full body workout in this week but with a focus on building strong, toned legs and glutes. Yes indeed! Pilates helps us to build long, lean muscle so we don't end up with bulky and stiff bodies at the end of it. Instead we're going to shape and tone the lower half of our bodies to leave us feeling and looking fant-ass-tic!

Week 5 video focus: Lengthening and Strengthening

This week we're getting a whole body burn and working to tone up and create long lean muscle. We're also focusing on our posture through spine exercises and strengthening those lovely back muscles so we can finish the week standing tall and feeling proud!

Week 6 VIDEO FOCUS: FULL BODY BURN!

We've been strengthening and toning ourselves up for this final stretch so we'll be picking up the pace a little to run through the finish line with our hands up in the air celebrating!
